I stood and looked
across the great divide -
I'd swum upstream to
get a better view,
who ever thought
we'd fall to genocide?
Tide marks are
arcing higher - that's the clue.
You ought to take a
walk along the shore -
more sand has
disappeared into the sea,
we seem to turn our
backs and slam the door -
poor fools who never
learn from history:
He sent a flood to
punish men of greed -
we deem ourselves
above our sin's reward
or do we simply love
our luxury,
redeeming all on
Sundays with the Lord?
Ordaining more
destruction brings our end -
endorsing profit
spells our planet's death,
dethrone those who
are not prepared to mend -
endeavor this with
every waking breath!
