THREE LITTLE PIGS

a stonnet (a sonnet that tells a well-known story)

Back to Main Stonnets Index

Three brothers, each who built a little house

to live in - one of straw and one of sticks,

the third one was a pig who had some nous,

he wore the cost and built his out of bricks.

The big bad wolf was huffing, puffing mad

and wanted pork - the house of straw was locked,

he blew it down, the pig was very sad

and ran and told his brother, who was shocked.

The house of sticks was soon but firewood,

with three pigs in the brick house undermanned,

the big bad wolf had trashed the neighborhood

but, by their hairy chins, they'd make a stand!

And then the wolf inhaled a giant breath

but had a heart attack - a fitting death.
