TAXICAB

This children's poem is part of a series I'm writing. Transportation poems just for children.

I'm a taxi, drive all day,

You may ride if you can pay,

Run you here and take you there,

Any time, just pay the fare.

Running late? Then call a cab!

Driver with the gift of gab,

Downtown shortcuts, uphill climb,

Tip him well, you're back on time!

"Airport - hurry!" Here I go!

Any weather, sun or snow,

Through the city streets I roam,

Take you out or take you home.

Hear my meter click each mile,

See my friendly driver smile,

Always chats to those who ride,

Raise your arm and jump inside.

Cool inside in summer's roast,

Nice in winter, warm as toast,

Charge the fare to boss's tab,

Everyone loves taxicab!
