giants roam the land

footfalls pound the dark night air

white gaze burns Earthwards

seeking victims

we sweat from fear

humidity and terror

lest this rolling monster

chooses here to strike

hot breath howls

ahead of torrents bred

from tears of frustration

at this parched planet

fury unleashed

we cower helplessly

quaking as it roars overhead

saving us for next time
