SHINE

I lost my friend at night – the world was dark,

he slowly slipped from life – I said goodbye,

now somewhere in the heavens he’s a spark,

a tiny silver light up in the sky.

The moon was full and shone its yellow light,

as if to welcome him, and show the way,

his soul is now a star, and shining bright,

he twinkles down upon me as I pray.

My tears have dried as now I see his peace,

I look into the sky, my spirits climb.

A star to show his love will never cease,

but shine down from the heavens for all time.
