With secret signs and wished-for misty memories
our clandestine affair is stretched like wire
like spider web lit silver through the black trees
it traps me and injects me with its fire.
No drug could ever hold me in its power
yet here I kneel a servant to your beauty
I
climb the tresses to Nirvana's tower
entrusted with a lover's sacred duty.
With kisses from some Once Upon a Story
caresses that a ransom couldn't capture
you cry my name in agony and glory
and we evolve as wispy wraiths of rapture.
But all my quests reside inside my dreaming
I've never felt your breath upon my shoulder
and watched your eyes grow large with passion's beaming
or tasted lips aglow in fiery smolder.
I
call upon the fates: reward obsessions
to aching hearts who wish for sweet endeavor
if dreams are all we have to call possessions
then let us sleep in harmony forever.
