SAMSON

a stonnet (a sonnet that tells a well-known story)

Back to Main Stonnets Index

She batted eyes and sucked the big guy in,

he slobbered like a puppy, smitten bad,

her smile put all his senses in a spin,

it's lucky he was strong and armor-clad.

Convincing him he looked a furry bear,

she took a pair of scissors to his head,

it only took a snippet of his hair

and all his super strength was lying dead.

He stood before the crowd with teary eyes,

ashamed he'd traded all his strength for sex,

and screamed a heartfelt prayer up to the skies,

the multitude went silent - craned their necks.

Then Samson pushed the pillars, down they came,

and everybody died - a crying shame.
