I knelt before the
Queen and said: "I do,"
She gave a Royal
stare - said: "Who are you?"
In trying to explain,
I lost my way,
that's why I'm in the
Tower in dismay.
Impeached and tried
with nothing more to say,
then sentenced to
forever and a day
I leaned against the
sad and sodden wall,
and tried to think of
nothing else at all.
A thousand lifetimes
later came the call:
a partner needed for
the Prince's Ball,
I signed a pact to
keep my heart in check,
then staggered out -
a drunken sorry wreck.
The leader of the
band said what the heck,
and launched into a
waltz, we hit the deck
as bombs exploded
like a laser light,
I watched the ladies
of the court ignite.
Instead of crying
sadly for my plight,
I flew out through
the window like a kite,
the strings of
freedom dragged me into town
and there the
paparazzi tracked me down.
My picture splashed
about - a hopeless clown,
adorned in pink
suspenders, chiffon gown,
I knelt before the
Queen, she said: "You'll do,"
I trudged back to my
tower - wouldn't you?
