Softaz looked at
Lilium and sent a mental rush
As the thought wave
entered her, the Trynn began to blush;
This was such
forbidden sport! She was betrothed to Flayyd,
Though she loved
her matrix mate her fate was ready made.
Megabytes of memory
would help her get through life,
So in love with
Softaz but some other Cunjan’s wife;
Both had known the
future, from their time as microbeems,
Doomed to love from
distant cells – together - but in dreams.
Memories of time in
Teenok, younger then, still free,
Then the day their
circuits fused, she knew it – so did he;
Overloading memory
banks with images of past,
Lilium sighed
softly, they had known it couldn’t last.
Children of the
Cupp are never left to choose their fate,
Circuitry and
conscience finds each Trynn a Cunjan mate;
Once a Plukk is
chosen she must never leave the nest,
Softaz smiled
goodbye to her, and went upon his quest.
Several thousand
pans young Softaz scoured the matrix pad,
All the Cunjans
jeered and called him matrified and mad;
Still he delved,
and then one pan his lovers’ luck had burst,
There it was –
another matrix – mirroring the first.
Calling on the
ether, Softaz drew his lover in,
Took her to the
other world, where love was meant to win;
Planet Cunj would
search forever, such a mystery,
Trynn and Plukk
where they belong – in love’s eternity.
