walking
far into the meadow
until grass was all I
could see
i fell upon it
like a bed
its soft touch lifted
and held me
my eyes traversed the
deep blue sky
and saw past earth
to forever
no clouds marred this
new perspective
to put the universe in
place
mathematical equations
meant nothing
in this void of blue
as I contemplated
heaven
and considered
my own small role
theories were born
and drowned
in the kitten sack of
knowledge
i was left
with only one truth
i would always be
asking:
why?
