 REDDIT ME:

Mary, Mary funny nursery rhyme by Australian writer Graeme King - funny, sad, serious and romantic poems. Poems for children, nature and environment poems. ©kingpoetry2007.

MARY, MARY

a stonnet (a sonnet that tells a well-known story)

Back to Main Stonnets Index

Mary Mary quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

That Mary is a very scary gal

I think there's something funny in her head

last week she found another silver bell

and planted it into her garden bed!

My theory was: she's growing her own beach

she'd planted several shells contrarily

no daffodils or apple trees or peach

just silver bells and cockles from the sea!

Most people do their weeding with their hoes

so why would she need six or seven spades?

With pretty girls to help her tend the rows

I think there's something fishy with those maids.

It's all a blind - a con - a red banana!

I've got it now: She's growing marijuana!!!
