Lost in the Jungle

as diamond eyes surround me in the darkness

the cold seeps through my thin and tattered clothing

i hear the whispered breathing in the umbra

and pray to God that i might live till morning

no angels flutter down for my salvation

i face this endless night in isolation

a harvest moon appears to give me solace

as tears of desolation streak my cheekbones

no sob escapes i dare not break the stillness

the silence of the evil simply deafens

i bite my tongue to stop myself from screaming

and hope this is a nightmare that i'm dreaming

now shadows seem to dance a waltzing menace

my eyes are staring wide but cannot focus

the furtive threat is round me in a circle

and every second seems to last a lifetime

a cruel and heavy punishment for error

as slowly I go mad and die from terror
