It's a raucous riot,
in the trees.
An onomatopoeic
cacophony
A screeching
symphony
An otic onslaught
that assaults the ears
Yet somehow soothes,
Despite its
deafening discordance.
I look up
Two hundred
kaleidoscopic rainbows
flit through
branches that are
impossibly green
against the infinite blue of a
clear sky that goes
on forever
The gum trees have
flowered
The colourful
crescendo dances through the leaves,
the strobe-like
spectrum changing a hundred times a second,
defying description,
screaming
their avian insults
at all and sundry,
red, yellow, orange,
blue, and every possible combination
invade my brain
daring me to to
describe
this polychromatic
Picasso from nature's palette.
The lorikeets are
here.
