THE LONELY SOCK
PITIFUL!
The lonely sock lies in the
back corner of the drawer,
Still like new,
But old.
Forgotten.
No longer a pair.
No more half of a team.
NO MATE.
Colour-co-ordinated couples crowd the drawer,
On Show Daily,
Gaudy,
New.
The lonely sock hides behind them.
ALONE.
Sometimes,
In the Washing Machine
of Life
A sock vanishes
During the spin cycle.
WHY?
