GEORGIE PORGIE

a stonnet (a sonnet that tells a well-known story)

Back to Main Stonnets Index

Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.

As Georgie gained the label: "Ladykiller"

he used his lips as if a magic wand,

his manly charms would turn on like a griller

and burn them into Heaven, and beyond.

His lips were like the touch of candied cotton,

the women sobbed in passion's ecstasy,

as gowns fell to the boudoir floor forgotten

he had his wicked way so easily.

So many maidens fell to Georgie's magic,

he never once ran out of volunteers,

his rooms would echo ladies' cries so tragic,

as Georgie's kiss would send a girl to tears.

Some husbands heard about this faithless kissing,

they turned up at his house, found Georgie missing.
