Animals walk in, two by two
Every size and shape and hue
Nobody thought a floating zoo
A very smart idea.
Lioness lies in peace with faun
Crocodile heeds to Gabriel’s horn
Precedent of a new Earth dawn
Carnivore lies with deer.
Anteater, elephant, rabbit and moose
Caribou, ocelot, camel and goose
Enemies call a needful truce
Trust lies in the seer.
Heretics scoffing, laughing loud
Avidly swilling, luckless crowd
Stupidly blind to first dark cloud
Voices snidely jeer.
Disbelief turns to stuttering doubt
Splattering raindrops break the drought
Family pleas to friends about
Skeptic, unblessed ear.
Tumbling Earthward endless rain
Mumbling tardy prayers in vain
Opportune offers nayed again
Perjuring, not to hear.
Naysayer heathens drown with tide
Peaceable innocents yet abide
Purified future, waters ride
Skies becoming clear.
