the feel of skin

on skin that steals

your breath and lights

that flame within

it's all about the soft

and whispered pledge

a wedge that opens mind

and heart and drives

us to the edge

it's all about the warmth

of long goodbyes

the sighs that say much more

than murmured words

or tear-filled eyes

it's all about the thought

of missing you

and kissing pictures soft

pretending

still-remembered bliss
