sitting under shade

with downcast eyes

watch lines of ants

use the freeway

of my naked feet

in the long grass

summer's seething heat

turns winter cool

blood stops its boil

slows its rhythm

roams my scoured veins

wanders aimless

breeze's whispered sigh

sings classic tunes

eyes lift to sky

silhouetted

in the autumn blue

butterfly wings
