Encapsulate me in a
void of cotton
with chloroform
instead of endless sky
so I may dream of
things I’ve long forgotten
and be with you
again before I die.
Cremate me in a
flame of purest blue,
so I may be reminded
of your face
the eyes that held
the mystery of you,
then willingly could
I accede to grace.
Bestrew my ashes far
beyond forever
then chant a
benediction for my soul
for if in heaven’s
height we are together
some saintly miracle
will make me whole.
I pray each day for
life to still my heart
what
God hath joined
let death not put apart.
