the dawn is my lover

caressing my sleepless cheeks

with golden fingers

smiling brightly to

drive the shadows back

into night's uncertainty

my heart warms to her song

as she promises love everlasting

trothed with dewdrops' diamonds

blushing softly in

the crisp whispered air

of daylight's treasures

a smoldering goddess

bathing me with her love

in a daily light show

glowing consistent devotion

to sustain me through tonight's dreams

as I wait for morning
