Hi there, thanks for taking an interest.
I was born in Melbourne, Australia, way
back. I started
writing rhyming poetry when I was about ten, and I remember having an
exercise book full of poems when I was eleven. I attended Ivanhoe
Grammar School on a full scholarship, which was awarded mainly because
of my writing work at primary school.
Over the years I wrote spasmodically, but I always
seemed to write something at least once a year. , I remember
taking a week off work in 1986 and writing a full length musical comedy!
I spent six years working in Papua new Guinea, which gave me the
opportunity to visit the U.S.A. Indonesia and Asia, and realize the
diversity of the world.
I now live in outback Queensland, right in the middle
of the bush, and since giving up work in January 2005 have been writing
constantly, expanding my rhyming efforts into form and meter poetry and
free verse. Almost everything on this site has been written since Jan
2005. I try and write at least one new poem every day, although, because
I always seem to write LONG poems, this is sometimes hard.
Like most writers, I have a novel in the planning
stage, and I'm trying to summon the discipline to get started on it. I
enjoy music and gardening and fish the nearby lakes. Whilst I appreciate
all other writers, it's special poems that really inspire me, and I read
a lot of contemporary magazines to try and gain inspiration from others'
efforts. Whilst I like the freedom of free verse, there is nothing like
putting together a clever rhyme in correct meter that is actually ha-ha
funny as well. I love it, hence so many entries in the "funny" section.
My major source of inspiration are
songs. Three words of a song on the radio will open up an entire poem to
me, and I'll build the piece around those original words, often not
knowing where it will go.

I do not have an agent (I wish) and published my first book of

Reason" 2006, and various other e-zines, journals and publications.
My new CD "Wizard of Auz" is a collection of 24 parody songs I wrote and
recorded myself.
