The bells of brown and
yellow hue are ringing
extolling out the sorrow
of the land
quite ready to endure a
new beginning
so tired of watching
rivers turn to sand.
Too weary of the sun's
relentless burning
emasculated - raped in
modern years
and now despaired of
mortals ever learning
as summer rain falls
silently as tears.
The species huddle -
hoping for redemption
but daily losing habitat
long shared
all watching as today
brings no exemption
lamenting for another
forest bared.
Behold ongoing slaughter
of creation
perceive those pealing
bells that warn us all
the price for our
relentless decimation:
extinction of the Earth -
and mankind's fall.
