My
daughter asked me for a tale:
“A
bedtime story, please!
Can
there be a princess
in a
wood with magic trees?
Enchanted elves who help her
when
she runs away from wrong,
and
bluebirds who stay with her
with
a Mother Nature’s song,
A
handsome prince who loves her
with
a dragon for a friend,
they
both come to the rescue,
(but
only at the end)
and
a step-mother, and goblins,
and
a witches’ cauldron spell,
and
a falling star, a harvest moon,
a
King, a wishing well,
a
*yawn*… a magic carpet and
some
elves who always *yawn*…
and
*yawn*… I hope there’s fairies
and
of course, a unicorn,
and
I, and oh, and hmm and *yawn*…
and
good wins over bad…”
then, as she fell asleep: “Goodnight and…
thanks,
great story, Dad!”
