I shed my skin
and saw the man
down deep within
I'm not a snake
it's simply me, for
Heaven's sake
I kneeled to pray
but all my
blessings slipped away
the angels wept
their tears a wave,
and I was swept
and left for dead
on rocks of
righteousness I bled
until the Lord
demanded me to
wield the sword
the Holy Blade
in tears I learned
of my crusade
I took the call
intoned a prayer
and killed them all
they died in vain
not one of them was
born again
I dug the holes
and cried a dirge
for all the souls
who called my bluff
my guiding light
was not enough
to live upon
my candle in the
darkness shone
I rang the bell
was ushered in the
Citadel
they gave me wine
I told them that
the world was mine
they washed my feet
my spirit's circle
now complete. |
