I sat beside the
lake in meditation
the worries of the
world began to fade
some geese swam by
in perfect V formation
I thanked the Gods
for such a grand parade.
A cloud recited
verses it had written
they told of torrid
times in stormy skies
I understood and
whimpered like a kitten
while diamonds fell
as teardrops from my eyes.
The sunshine
through the trees was nature’s prism
its multi-hued
aurora bathed the earth
I felt the colors
take me in baptism
and knew the warmth
and wonder of re-birth.
I looked down at my
palm and read the story
a tale of eyes that
opened to the sun
then looked out on
the day in all its glory
and realized my
life had just begun.
