The dust settles

on Argument Road.

Tiredness and Apathy tag-team

to pin logic and love.

Fearing tomorrow

lest I wake late

and the sunlight has melted

my reason for staying,

I sleep wide-eyed

and dream of reality.

Wishing forgiveness

we say nothing,

and the silence cracks like thunder

as another chance

goes begging in the night.

In memory’s waltz

I dance to a sad tune

across forever’s ballroom

as the drummer grimaces.
