ANOTHER WAY

This is a Welsh poetry form called a RHUPUNT.

Another record featured on the news?

The Weather Gods have really blown a fuse

If we could do it over would we choose

Another way?

Tsunamis, record floods and crippling droughts

Could anyone with common sense have doubts?

Yet those in power stay deaf to Nature's shouts

As people pray.

The Governments don't seem to really care

They pass the laws to strip the planet bare

Allowing some to take the lion's share

The ones who pay.

The chance of breaking rain is rather bleak

They planned another mighty dam last week

Discarded those dependant on the creek

They have no say.

A record storm has left a city glum

The politicians wail and beat the drum

They won't be panicked into looking dumb

The laws will stay.

The fire season reaches record highs

But still they're deaf to conservation cries

No matter if another forest dies

Through their delay.

The time to act is now, we have a choice

Give vent to your frustration, use your voice

With every tiny victory rejoice

Stand up today.
