A picture in my mind
- of seventeen,
the King of
Everything and you my Queen,
I'd rein the world
and tame it to my will,
live on the edge, no
heed of overkill.
To learn the seven
signs of magic lore,
I somehow left you
spellbound on the shore,
as winds of greed and
self blew me away...
I wonder if you're
waving still, today.
I sailed around the
world on seven seas.
then at a secret
island on my knees
with bleeding fingers
dug into the beach,
in search of treasure
always out of reach.
I trekked across
Tibet
for seven years,
to reach a mountain
topped with frozen tears,
a limpid sun, a pale
and sorrowed sky,
reminded me of how
you'd said goodbye.
As seven angels sing
me heaven's tune
the veil of truth
shines from a sad-faced moon,
I understand the
scripture in their song:
my paradise had been
here all along.
